How to Double-tether a bone
anchored hearing device!
- I use stretchy jewelry cord from a craft store for all the tethers. It is easier to knot and has some “give
- Tie one end of first tether to the loop on the processor and then to the plastic clip on the soft band
- Tie one end of the second tether to the plastic clip on the softband with the shirt clip on the other end.
TIPS:
- To keep a child from putting the processor in their mouth, keep the tether to the softband very short – maybe 1 inch. Also keep the shirt tether short and clip to middle back of the shirt. This reduces the ability to get the processor all the way around to the mouth
- Keep ends of tethers short – stray ends touching the processors causes feedback and buzzing.
- Use a drying disc in a mason jar to eliminate the need for untethering the processors to store in the dryer at night
- I use this drying disc: http://www.maxiaids.com/products/5580/Dri-Aid-Kit.html
